Surgery date June 20, 2011

My surgery is scheduled for June 20, 2011. I am getting nervous but anxious. Does anyone know how long you have to be off of work to heal up?

Everyone is different. I took 4 weeks off and that was perfect for me. But I've read where people take 3 days off and go back to work after that. I've also read where people SHOP right after surgery, that was NOT the case for me ;(

As sleeve 4 me said, it will vary from person to person.

It also depends what kind of work you do.

Assuming no serious complications. (fingers crossed for ya)

If you have a low physical demand job where you can easily take a break if you are not feeling well and you can keep a supply of Water handy for sipping, you can return fairly soon.

A more strenuous job that you can't keep Water handy or take a quick break as needed, may require more time off.

My only advice is, take one more day than you think you "need".
