Fat4now 7 Posted May 28, 2011 How long on average are you out of work? I'm thinking about Surgery with Dr. Kelly in Mexico. How long does he write you out for? I have told my supervisor what I am planning to do and she is supportive but I don't know how long to tell her I will be out of work. Can you help?
Rootman 1,101 Posted May 28, 2011 I was out 4 days - took vacation - and this was not nearly enough, I was miserable for the first month. Take 2 if not 3 weeks off if you can manage it.
Fat4now 7 Posted May 28, 2011 Thanks! I was wondering about that...It looks like I might need Short Term Disability or FMLA cause I definitly don't have that much vacation left. LOL
sleeve 4 me 910 Posted May 28, 2011 I took 1 month off, and that was perfect. I was very weak post surgery, and needed to lay down several times during the day.
meepmeep17 13 Posted June 1, 2011 I had surgery on May 16 with Dr. Kelly. I will be off for 4 weeks due to my job requiring lifting. Being a critical care nurse, I am always running around at work. Pain isn't the issue, just energy level plus lifting restrictions. How long on average are you out of work? I'm thinking about Surgery with Dr. Kelly in Mexico. How long does he write you out for? fairyfaye 9 Posted June 1, 2011 I had 5 days off work and was fine to go back. I have not had any drop in energy levels at all. But everyone is different so just listen to your body! X
