That is so fantastic! You worked hard for it, taking all those wonderful hikes and enjoying life to the fullest! Best of luck with those surfing lessons! (New bathing suit too?)

You have been such an amazing inspiration to so many people but especially to me. You went first. . .and then you mentored me the entire way. I still remember our first meeting at Marie Callendars for Breakfast and you could hardly eat and were so depressed. I was having my surgery 3 days later and you inspired me and let me know that i would be ok. All of the text messages back and forth when I needed support and a voice that had "been there". You got me through SO much!

And YOU were the one that has brought us all together for our support group - none of that would have happened with YOU. The group has inspired and nurtured all of us and given us all the strength to keep moving forward even when we were having a difficult time with the process. It made all of us feel like we weren't alone in the journey. Thank you for bringing us together.

And you continue to inspire. Each and every month when you speak to the graduating class at Kaiser and share your story, letting them know that this DOES work - even though the road is sometimes difficult. They look at you and see your succes and find comfort in the fact that they are embarking on the right journey.

I hope you realize the impact you have had on all of our lives. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Pam

Ohhhhhhh my! I love you Pam! Thank you sooooo much for your kind words! And thank you for always being there for me. I know I sound like a broken record but I really could not have done this without you and the many others that God has put in my life. We will forever be connected by this wonderful and special gift. Hugs!

I also want to thank you for reminding me to take a picture to always remind me of making my goal :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
