NJGirl 0 Posted July 1, 2006 It depends. The Liquid Protein I took during pre-op had phentermine in it, so it did curb my appetite. I still drink about two Protein Shakes a day, one for Breakfast and one as a snack...either the creamy milk shake kind or the clear Isopure kind. GOOD LUCK! jcbydesign 0 Posted July 4, 2006 My surgeon's rules say no Protein Shakes once you are on solid food. This does NOT work for me...and since I am doing well...I don't tell him. I drink one for breakfast and then one mid afternoon or late night snack. They fill me up and satisfy me between meals and they provide the extra Protein that I can't seem to get just from food. I use the Synthrax nectar (yummy fruit flavors) or the Synthrax Essence (yummy vanilla or chocolate). They have no carbs or fats, are sweetened with spenda, so no horrid after taste, they have no protein 'taste' and are only 90 calories. But there are lots available so I am sure you'll find some you like. Vitalady.com and Bariatriceating.com and a few other sites have samples you can order. Hope this helps. willowbas 0 Posted July 4, 2006 I'm also big on the Protein drinks! I wouldn't have Breakfast otherwise! I'm very tight in the a.m. and can only drink! They do fill me up and satisfy me long into the day! So much so that at times I miss lunch!
