Here are two variations on the recipe.

Gingerbread with greek yogurt frosting and

chocolate / Peanut Butter cake with FF cream cheese filling and SF "hot fudge" topping

I have also made a strawberry cake using nectar strawberry/kiwi Protein Powder.

This recipe is a work in progress, but is getting pretty good! Actually, it is nutritious enough to eat as a meal.

I eat the gingerbread one for Breakfast at work. They are REALY high in Fiber, and pretty much singlehandedly fix THAT problem if you have it.... :^)

Whoohoooo thank you!!!! I'm really going to try these!! I'll let you know how they turn out.

@Kelly, we'll see you next time. We're thinking something sometime next month. I guess we could start picking dates now! :) Any suggestions? I'll need to check my calendar but I believe I'm available June 25th. June 19th weekend is Father's Day.

Yay I finally found out thanks to Irene that I was approved right away and I'd been anxiously awaiting notification thinking I might have been rejected ;-P

Sacratomato (as Herb Caen always called it!) is a bit far for me unfortunately because I would dearly love to meet you all- but maybe if I plan agead and get some more weight off I could do it. My back nerve pain makes longer drives really painful but my hope is weightloss will ease that some!

I have so many Protein Drinks that I once liked and now don;t that could be YOUR next fave thing- and already will soon have to GORGEOUS chlorine resistant swim suits to pass along. BOy will I be buying cheap suits for a while before I spring for another good one!

So glad to be with my No Ca peeps!

Hi Meggie, glad to see you!

Well we can always make a meet and greet in a more centralized location, I don't mind traveling a bit! I love to drive. :) I'm also open to carpooling with anyone to help with gas costs or whatever. It would just be for a few hours meeting so I don't think we'd need overnight stays or anything.

Any location suggestions?

I am so bad with CA geography I don't know what would work best for you- I am good to go to San Jose, San Francisco, or Oakland. That's about my limits in the different directions!

I know we have two in SJ but they could probably manage any of the other two places too (also Fremont of course or someplace like that...

What about Hayward or Tracy? This would be totally doable for me.

I do love San Francisco!! But it would be a heckuva place to meet up! :) It's so busy and parking would be a problem.

We can find a Starbucks in either town via the Starbucks website and get directions from there.

You could come to my house in Vallejo if you're not allergic to dogs (I have two big ones).

I'm pretty sure I could driveto Hayward too. I don't really know how far Tracy is from San Jose, but I'm sure it's doable. I just don't have a sense of when I could do it since I don't know how well I'll feel how soon. But it's looking like you guys are trying to get a gathering a month or so. Cool! I'm sure I'll make the one after the next if I can make this next one.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
