Jill, Happy Independence day! I had the same "last meal" problem before surgery...I got my date two weeks before surgery and was amazed that I only gain 3 pounds, 'cause girl I eat everything that wasn't nailed down.

You'll be okay, before you know it you'llbe banded and losin' weight like crazy. I'm so happy for you!

Tammy

Hi Everybody,

I have been out of sight but you haven't been out of my mind.

Have a happy 4th.

Melissa that stinks about your card!! What a creep!

I need some advice. I can't tell if it's my head or if I reallly am hungry. I think I really am hungry.

I made it to 200 and then the other day when I went on I was back at 201 1/2. I've been eating when I'm not hungry and when I am hungry. I don't feel full. I'm talking myself into a fill as I type this. I've been down in the dumps about a lot of personal crap going on. But it seems like ever since I set a goal with a # I've been screwing things up for myself.

Sorry for wineing.

Dianne, I swear you look 150...not 200! No way I weigh less than you!!!!!! It's hard not to watch the scale when you are pressing toward Onederland. Hang in there. You'll see it one day, then not the next, then again, and soon you'll be watching the scale to see when you stop being over 200 at night, then you are REALLY below 200...it's REALLY hard not to be a scale junkie at this stage of the game. Just be nice to yourself, kay?

Jen, it's HOT. Yuck.

Wavy, I hope Melissa pops in soon...I have no idea about the EAS. If you MUST do Mocha, I'd get a Starbucks Mocha Frap in the bottle. They sell them cold in the grocery stores...high sugar, no protien, junk. But Mocha and good ole CAFFIENNE!!!!!! Yeah Baby!

Hey Tammy!

Hello, my name is Karen, and I'm a scale junky! I only write my weight down in my journal once a week, but I weigh at least once, if not twice, a day. I don't mean obsess about it, but can't seem to help myself. Oh well, I guess there are worse things?

I'm having a very laid back 4th. I had to work yesterday, but there were very few people in, and I left a little early. :biggrin1:

Not much else to report here. I miss everyone, and hate that I won't be able to make lunch this month! :(

Hey everyone I hope you all are doing great. Hope you had a great 4th. We did we went to the beach friday afternoon and got home late last night. We stopped and watched the fireworks in Oakboro..so that was good timing.

Melissa girl I am so sorry to hear about your card stolen. That is rough - that happened to me when I was 20 and it was horrible getting it all settled. How was your vacation? Are you back?

Dianne hey girl come and get a fill. Let me just sat Pamela is WONDERFUL at giving them. I so much prefer her...don't tell Dr. V I said that. Shhhh it's our seceret. I have to tell you the last fill I had I had the whole office in there...Erin and Steffney had never seen a fill and asked if they could watch. It was so funny and Pamela did GREAT even w/ and audiunce.

Jennifer - I agree it's HOT!!!!! We are going to try and go to Carowinds next sunday. I think Curtis would fall in love w/ Chloe. :grouphug: All though he is younger...hehe

Wavy - I have no idea where to get those drinks..hopefully Melissa will chime in when she gets back and let you know. I thought she got them @ GNC...totally could be wrong.

Karen I too share the scale thing...I am on it every morning either at home or at work. It's bad but I can say when I am out of town I focus more on what I eat becuase I don't have the scale. It worked this weekend becuase I lost 2 pounds. I am so proud of you you are doing great.

Ok so I just wanted toot my own horn for a second...weighed this morning and FINALLY hit the 90 pound mark. YEAH ME..I feel great. Now I am just hoping the scale will at least say the same thing tomorrow morning. hehe.

I am off the whole week this week and I am so excited. Mike goes back to work tomorrow and then Thursday and Friday I am keeping my niece. If anyone wants to try and get together Friday I am up for it. I will have 2 kids but hey it's ok. Since I am going to miss saturday's get together which I am so said about.

Pool Party?

Hello Everyone!

I had an awesome weekend! Dan took the girls up to Va from Friday to Tuesday so I had a little bit of fun but missed my babies!!! I went out on the boat with my friends, and then went to a party with other friends, and I got to see our sweet Karen at her house. It was a good time. Then my babies got home and we went to a friends house and watched fireworks on the lake! Awesome time!!! Life is grand! :grouphug:

Kim, I may want to get up with you Friday if I can make it work. Got to check on a couple of things and I will get back with you. I would love to see you and I will have three girls with me so... watch out!

Not sure where to find those drinks. I remember Melissa talking about them.

Hey, Karen is looking awesome. She is doing so good. Keep it up Karen!

Hi Dianne!!!! Sorry to hear you can't get to onederland! You will make it believe me. You look fantabulous! Keep it up!

Me on the other hand I am having a hard time with not eating so much crap! It's like food is on the mind constantly. I can't stand it. I am waiting on Dr. B to get back to me for another fill and start getting back on track here. Ok, I need to go. Girls are getting into things. So tty!!! :D

Love you all,

Angie

KIM-WTG that is so exiting!!! I can't wait to see you. Are you buying new clothes these days that show your lose off?

Angie-Sounds like you had a nice weekend. I keep looking for a friend with a boat! We used to have 2 friends with sail boats and had a blast!

I did better with food today, so hopefully I'm on a turn around. Went to curves and then took a mile walk. Got an awful migrain. I'm tempted to take him to the er if he doesn't feel better soon. He's having trouble thinking and talking.

Gott run

Hi Everyone!

I have a some NSV's I'm going to toot my horn over: 1) for the first time in over two years, my husband made it through an entire night sleeping together without him kicking me out of bed for snoring like a freight train, 2) after 6 weeks of "dieting", I'm down a total of 16 inches, and 3) with the heat and swelling, I can't wear them all day, but I got my wedding rings on for the first time in two years also! :clap2:

I'm still running around with newbie euphoria, but hey, I'll ride this natural high as long as it lasts! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
