I've learned here that many of sleevers have experienced sort of hair lose. How can I avoid it. I'll appreciate your advise.

As I have heard there is not much you can do to avoid it. It either happens to you or not. I am 5 months out and my hair is thinning, everyone in my support group suffered some degree of Hair loss, all of them said it came back. I also heard that taking Biotin can help. I have not tried that yet.

My hair is thinner but so far no Hair loss, I don't want to jinx it, but it hasn't happened! Since I got home I am taking cod liver oil capsules, one per day every single morning. I don't know why but I am convinced this is helping me a lot.

I don't think there's a guaranteed way to avoid hair loss; I read somewhere that 30% keep all their hair and the other 70% experience varying amounts of loss. Mine is coming out a lot, but I don't care, I would rather be thin with thin hair than fat with thick hair. Besides, it grows back.

I have yet to actually meet anyone who has not lost hair post sleeve. However, I have met people with extra thick hair who didn't mind losing half their hair. That was not the case with me. My hair was thin to begin with, and just got worse, and worse. It has finally stopped coming out like crazy. I know it will eventually grow back. For now, I'm happy with my extensions :)

I used Noixon Shampoo and it didn't do a thing. I got in all my Protein and took every Vitamin under the sun that was supposed to be for hair. I've been taking Biotin for 5 years.

I lost 2/3 of my hair because I lost it with both the band and sleeve. It's growing in now, and I have little short hairs all over my head.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
