So today is day 11 post op for me and until lunch te things were going fine!

I get so nurvous about eating around people that don't know that I ate way too fast and ended up being sick. It was so painful and now my new stomach feels so sore.

Then I got to car park to find my head teacher had parked so close to me that I had to shimmy over from the passenger side and I pulled the incisions and now everytime I move they hurt like crazy! I'm sure the stupid head teacher does this on purpose as she is a tiny size uk 4 and looks down her nose at me all the time!!!!

Ahhhhhhh I hurt and I wanna cry!

Bad bad bad day !!!!

I would ding her car so badly with your door. . . what she is doing is totally wrong (so is dinging it, but revenge is sweet) First off she should park properly and not be a lane hog! Can't the campus police (if you have those) give her a ticket or something for that?

I'm sorry you're having such a rough day!! One thing that annoys me to NO END are inconsiderate people. I guess I just like to be treated the way I tread others. I take care not to park to close to others - etc.

You might want to just give your Dr. a call to see about your stitches coming out. It's probably not a big deal, but you never know!! More trouble is better to catch now rather than later.

I do hope your day gets better! If it makes you feel any better I also try to eat more normally in the company of others. I don't know why this is but it sure makes for misery later. It just makes it MORE apparent how different I am when I'm holding my belly looking miserable. LOL!!!

Lol! Thank you all soooooo much this forum really is like having a sleeve family where everyone knows just how I feel! 

Today I am feeling so much better I went home and slept for 3 hours!!! And then had some yummy home made chicken Soup ( always comforter )

I have an appointment with my surgeon on Friday so I will have him look at my poor incisions then.

I also spoke to the head teacher today and asked her to be more considerate with her parking ( she knows I had surgery just not what for) she still looked at me like I was a fat cow but did apologise! Skinny bitch!!!! Next time she'll get the key! Lol

I'm sticking with Soup again for a few days but that's cool as I like soup.

Thank you all again for being so lovely!

Hey Fairyfaye,

Your headteacher sounds like a right cow! That is just rude... take no notice of her and raise above it... she really isn't worth it. I work in a school, I am a teacher, and at lunch time if I am asked why I am eating soooo little, I just say that I am on a cal controlled diet. Last week I had a phase of greek youghurt for lunch, and a few comment 'is that all you are going to have?' ... I just said 'yep!' and sat there and enjoyed every mouthful! No one would have said that to a skinny person!!!

I am well impressed that you are back to work on day 11... I had my sleeve done in line with the 6 weeks hols. I don't think I could have returned to work in under 2 weeks, so well done! Remember, you'll have the last laugh! =]

Hey coops

Thank you so much for that I went back to work on day 5! My head really is such a cow I didnt want to miss too much time from school!

I have now told people I'm doing a liquid diet and that seems to have shut them up. I am very lucky to have some very good friends who I have told and after my distaster day yesterday they are acting like a protective blanket around me! They understand why I have chosen this option and are so supportive I am very luck to have them!

And yes I will have the last laugh! Lol

Hope you are well and keep enjoying that Greek yogurt!

<font color="#000080" size="4">It never ceases to amaze me how stupid and plain rude people are. They have no compassion or understanding for other folks who are trying to correct a health problem. I hope your incisions are OK, and for sure the last laugh will be on the ignorant ones who fail to think about another's well being.:D

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Seems it would be more compassionate not to perform a WLS on someone until they are mentally ready for it. Unless of course they are on death's door...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
