I've only lost 4 lbs this month

Recommended Posts

I have been stalling since week 4. It's now been 9 weeks and I have only lost 4 lbs for the entire month this is so depressing. I thought for sure I would be at goal in four months at this rate I doubt that will happen.

Can you give us ideas of what you are eating or drinking? You may not be getting enough calories, Protein, Water. Sometimes you need to change what you are doing in order to start the losses again. My nutritionist said losing 1-3 pounds a week is realistic. Everyone loses weight differently. Make sure that you are following your doctor;s order. Just hang in there, You are losing!.

I've had the same problem and have been stalled for almost 3 weeks. I am doing pretty good with carbs and Proteins and calories. I cut out some sugar that I would get in from drinking regular juice and haven't drink anything but Water and all SF beverages for the past few days and have just dropped a pound. So, I hope that the stall is breaking because as you said "it is so depressing". I had a hopeful goal deadline as well and this has set me back a lot and I know that I won't make mine neither. I just try to tell myself to look at the brighter side, at least I will reach my goal at some point with the sleeve, where as without it the chances of that happening were zero!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
