Sooo, I may only be in this process for 3 weeks, but I have already loss a jean size!!!!! Yippee. I woke up this morning and dug up pair of jeans at the bottom of the drawer. They are a new pair of jeans I only wore and few times. They were a bit tight when I bought them and I just grew out of them before I really got to where them. I held them up to me and they didn't look like they would fit, just seemed to small still. But I went ahead and threw my legs into them pulled them up and BAM the button was right at the hole. I could button them with out even sucking in. This sleeve is going to be amazing!!! I think losing jean sizes may be even more amazing then watching that scale move. There is no denying you are smaller when you can button a pair of jeans.

Just curious if some of you might share your waist size (or the place where you button your jeans at) in inches and jean size you wear and weight. I know we are all very different, but I'd love to get an idea of what size jeans I can eventually wear. I have never been small so its all a new experience. I think starting high school I was already a 12-14 and graduated in 18. So to even be a 10 would be all new.

Currently I'm 52in, size 22, 253

Congrats! It's so trippy when you hold up these wee trousers and then they fit.

I'm 5'7" about 202 lb, don't know my waist measurement, but I can wear a size 14 US jeans, 12 if I don't mind not breathing too much. :D I know everyone is "big boned" but I actually do have a fairly large frame, so when I used to be thin, I still weighed 140 lb and I never wore anything smaller than a size 8 -- but size 8s are bigger now, so it was probably like a 6.

I am 5'4" (stretching) and currently weigh 168.4. Haven't done a waist measurement. I actually AM small boned...you just can't tell it as I have covered them up with so much padding! :P My goal is theoretically 130 and that might be a stretch. I will probably be esctastic to get to 140 and anything that I lose under that will be a bonus.

I bought a pair of size 12 jeans a couple of weeks ago that I could button and zip only by sucking it in and they looked painted on because they were so tight! Today I am wearing them to work on casual Friday and they fit wonderfully! It may be that the brand runs large though because the same weekend I bought dress slacks and a straight skirt in a size 14. I don't care if it is vanity sizing or not...I'll take it!

Thanks girls. I am getting a better idea of where I want to be. It's so hard because everyone is so different in jean sizing. Plus every brand is so different in sizes I even went searching in sizes that come in inches so odd. I guess I will just have to wait to see where I will be at. Hope to hear from some more of you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
