My Fav Compliment so far

Recommended Posts

I've been laughing about this all morning and had to share.

Although I haven't lost much weight in the last week or two, something must be happening because EVERYONE is suddenly noticing all of this weight I've lost.

I work in a large high school with a fabulous custodial staff. Today, I was walking next to one of our custodians who speaks very limited English. When I said, "Hi!" she looked at me and her eyes bugged a bit and she said in very broken English, "You is skinny! Yes? Es good! Es good!" For some reason, I found this hilarious. I thanked her for noticing and giggled to myself as I walked away. By far my favorite compliment thus far.

Yes, I is skinny! Es good! Es good! :bounce:

I am a teacher and one our custodians commented on my weight loss too. It was so sweet of her. Congrats on the NSV! I am sure many more will come!

This brought a smile to my face... I love it when things like this happen... I can understand why you had a lil chuckle to yourself.

I am a teacher too, and for the most part the kids in my classes have been either, really kind or they haven't said much... anyway, around Feb time one of the older boys said to me 'Miss, what is with all this weight loss? What is the matter with you? You don't want to lose too much more'!!!! I just thanked him and told him that I would take it as a compliment...lol

Didn't have the heart to tell him I had a load left to go!!

The one thing that the kids, and staff are impressed with is my boxing! One lad said 'Miss you were well 'ard before, you must be solid now!' Again this tickled me and I took it as a compliment! (Imagine it with a welsh accent... very funny!)

Coops that is so cute. One of my students who has been out taking classes at a community college for a couple of semesters and hasn't seen me for a while walked in for advising last week and got a shocked/surprised look on his face. "wow! You look great!" the look on his face was really funny. I don't get many comments from students either. I think they think it is impolite to say anything. Seems a number of us on this board are teachers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
