Bemabound 11 Posted May 19, 2011 Hi all, Well, I have had fissures in the past and I'm due to get surgery at the end of June. I'm wondering does everyone experience Constipation? If so how did you avoid butt problems??? This is the last thing I need...it has been a stuggle getting over these issues in the recent months and I don't want to make it worse after surgery...daily pain sucks!!!!!!!!!! What do you all do to avoid this apparent side effect and when could you take something for it???? Thanks guys, Tracy W.
rsr53 1 Posted May 19, 2011 Talk to your surgeon about this. They can order stool softener for you to take after Recovery. Drink lots of fluids, too. You want to keep yourself flushed out.
Rootman 1,101 Posted May 19, 2011 Miralax once a day for me, I've taken it for years. 1/2 cap a day in a juice glass of Crystal Lite.

Diane 24 Posted May 20, 2011 I take 3 stool softeners a day everyday, without any problems, I go about every 3 days and it works great for me. Otherwise I don't seem to be able to go. And i just take the store generic brand when they are on sale. Have a great week!
Foxbins 625 Posted May 20, 2011 I take the calcium citrate liquid from costco (I think it's called Reviva) and it has magnesium in it. Two tablespoons in the afternoon/evening works for me in the morning.
Eureka-C 20 Posted May 20, 2011 I take 2-3 servings of benefiber a day. If I still haven't had a bm in three days, I take a stool softener or two. Always does the trick. It was better after 6 weeks when I could start eating veggies. I also do better if I get my 64+ oz. Water.< /p>
