Vicky 0 Posted May 18, 2011 Good Afternoon everyone. My name is Vicky Diaz and I aproximately 2 weeks ahead of my surgery... I started this process in November 2010 with the mandatory 6 month prep classes and training, which included diet, and mindful eating classes with 2 wonderful ladies (a nutritionist (Prudence) and a psycologist "Rachel") as well as visits to a psychiatrist (Dr. Flores) - my weight when I started was 291lbs, today , May 2011 I am at 268lbs. I have stopped all sodas and have cut my sugar intake to half, my meals also have become very strick eating only 30 grams of Protein per meal and combining Fiber and carbs to complete the meal... I follow the 30-20-30 rule with my drinking (water/iced tea} and I have stopped snacking for the most part, although an occassional bagel or chip still finds itsway into my mouth every now and then. I am looking forward to the surgery, it will be great to know that my weight will finally be under control. I hear a lot of stories about pain etc...but I am not scared I just want to have it done. I will continue to post here are the time nears and after the surgery. I will need help from you and I hope i can help you as well. oh by the way... my husband is also getting it done a month after I do my surgery. Cant wait to see how fast he drops. Anyways, hope you join my blog and i hope to become friends with you too. All the best to t [/url] hose that have had the surgery already and continue winning at this loosing battle. You are going to love this forum. Yep there is some pain but of course that is to be expected. Only advice I have for you is to do exactly what your doctor and nurses tell you to do. Walk as soon as possible and take very small sips of everything. Keep us posted and good luck on your surgery!! Good luck to your hubby too!
