After I get back from the East Coast, I have an appointment with a prosthodontist who is going to fix some cosmetic tooth issues I never bothered to take care of because I sort of didn't care. Nothing major, just something that kind of nagged at me.

Also, four days after that, I'm going to get a dot laser rejuvenation to stimulate the collagen so my face doesn't hang on the ground when I'm at goal.

As far as other nips and tucks...I don't know. If my belly is really bad I'll do a pass of vaser Lipo.

:) Those are mine, what are yours?

Dot laser rejuvenation? Huh? And what is vaser lipo? It sounds science fiction!

Doesn't lipo remove fat though? I think the main issue we face with them bellies is skin...where the fat used to be...

Me? Our thriving business is hanging on by a thread so sometimes food and gas are an issue. Not to mention bariatric Vitamins

But when I can afford it I really just want to have cut and color with highlights again. It has been a long time.

And anything else I can wrestle out of the medical community since I do have great insurance- it just takes all our money!

Dot laser is the newest laser resurfacing gizmo that stimulates collagen for six months after treatment. I don't look too bad but I see a little jowly/pouchiness that might not snap back.

Vaser lipo is lipo that has skin tightening benefits also. A little cheaper than a Tummy Tuck, less downtime, no cutting.

I've seen a lot of b and a's for tummy tucks and the whole process looks gruesome. Recovery seems like torture. My friend got one in Brazil and had her mother take care of her because she could not straighten out her body , had to sleep sitting up, could not wash, you take care of drains for weeks.

Gah. I've had enough "down time."

For me, after saving all that money on medications, :D I am going and getting a WHOLE new wardrobe. Top to bottom!

My original goal make over was a size 12 (UK) pair of Bench jeans to go to the Take That concert in... hmmm, the concert is in less than a mth and I am a good 20lbs away from those babies... so I have to reconsider this, - I will get a new pair of jeans for the concert, prob be a size 16 as that is my current size, but I might be brave and go for the skinny style!

My next 'big' event is the school prom at the beg of July... around the same time as my anniversary... A nice lil dress would be a great make over for me... fingers crossed!

If and when my husband and I become employed again, my makeover gift to myself is going to be to go to Zumba classes!

I was walking, and then the New Mexico Wind started blowing and it hasn't been below 40 mph for weeks.

After the first week of eating lb after lb of sand and digging it out of every crevice and crease on my body, I shucked the walking.

I am a very athletic person, and I think Zumba will be my forte to toning, tightening and trimming up while I lose weight and after.

Then maybe I'll consider a new wardrobe...since I vowed I wasn't going to buy new clothes til I reach goal! (Well, maybe I'll hit a resale shop or 2 so I don't look like a HoBo the ENTIRE time LOL....)

That is exactly what I think too when I consider future plastic surgery. Enough surgery!

:). I love hearing all these celebratory aspirations.

As for the Tummy Tuck, well, it's not for me but I bet you'll look great when it's done.

My belly got bad when I had my first child. I was upset about it for years and then one day I just sort of gave up on it. Other things to worry about, other things to spend money on. I wish there was a way to fix it entirely without the misery. :)

I think I'm having some filler in the face--my puppet lines have deepened since my facial fat is mostly gone, and I have a depression under my cheekbone, now crosshatched with wrinkles, that used to be plump. Then maybe something done to my neck, it's sagging badly. I always thought I would go the Katharine Hepburn route with the turtlenecks to cover my neck, but my decolletage actually looks great and I don't want to cover it up.

I will get a varicose vein on the back of my right leg zapped so I can wear shorts without an ounce of self-conscious. I am not sure about the rest of it. I am not loving my arms currently but I am young and I think there's a good chance that some of this skin will snap back. Regardless of if it actually happens, I am choosing to believe that positive self-thoughts and good karma will make it happen! :)

So from this post I got interested in Bench, which is a UK brand, we don't have them here. I looked on their online store and they only had ONE pair of womens jeans -- is that the pair? Or do you wear men's combats?

I need to wait and see what exactly I'm left with after I hit my goal weight. BUT, I do plan on the vaser Lipo if needed, cut and color my hair,

whiten my teeth, a little laser hair removal in "certain areas"(don't ask. ugh!), zap those damn veins off my legs, maybe some Latisse for my eyelashes as I have close to none, and a nice resurfacing of my face. Later, money allowing, I would look into a breast lift with a nice C cup perhaps. Maybe

even a Tummy Tuck. Much of this is just me dreaming but some of it I do intend on making happen! Woohoo! I say if you got the money and are willing, go all the way baby! I've been fat ALL my life and have no clue whatsoever what I might look like with a thin, rockin' body. I am excited to find out though! Worm to butterfly in my case! Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
