I'm stalled, but expected it

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 weeks postop, and I hit the stall. Didn't lose an ounce since last week. Gratefully, I expected it, because I have read about everyone else. So I'm not going to freak. I start my mushy foods this week, and I find it a bit harder to determine what to eat. If anyone has some ideas, I'd appreciate it. Also, could someone tell me when my hair will begin to thin, so I can try to prepare myself mentally. This really freaks me out. Thanks my friends.

Hello!

I have seen many post that said around the 3 month mark they notice the Hair loss.< /span>

I am almost at 6 month mark - I was assigned 70 grms Protein intake daily and I have never once been under that mark, typically getting my protein in around the 90's. I heard the hair loss is common, but if you meet your protien intake and take Biotin you have less chance of losing... so far, I have noticed no difference in loss of hair.

Biotin is from the B vitimin family... I ordered soft gel caps over the net 5000mg.. and I take 2 daily...they are very easy to swallow being gel caps Everyone is different in the way their bodys handle WLS, for me, the hair loss is nothing... and I feel my protein intake and Biotin is the reason I am not seeing it yet. - try it

Yep, the stall stinks. It could last up to 2 weeks, so stay strong!!

As far as Hair loss, I haven't experienced it yet. From what I have read, it happens around the 3 month mark. Happens to some people, but not all. It doesn't seem to matter if you eat all the right things or not - it may be more of a reaction to anesthesia and surgery.

Good luck--

Lara

Hey Keepaloozen-

First, I LOVE your screen name. It cracks me up! :)

I have already started loosing hair. It's not fun but it is what it is. I will say it's a hell of a lot easier to deal with when you're 50 lbs. lighter!

Amanda

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
