Not sure what it is but I had it in the beginning. I just made sure I brushed my tongue well. I also heard you can get a tongue scraper to help. Now that I am farther out I do not have that problem as much. Find it gets less when I have more Water. Not sure if there is a correlation to the Water or not.

The good news. You are in ketosis which means your body is burning weight at optimal performance. Continue on the way you are now and you will continue to lose weight at a rapid pace. You are going to be at goal in sooner that you think.

The bad news. You might have bad breath too. Not much you can do if you have these except brush your tounge and teeth often. Maybe sip Water more often. Even my mom told me I had halatious breath during this phase.

Rejoice, you have a furry tongue!

I have heard of people getting a black furry tongue from excessive use of mouth wash. Brushing is good but use mouth wash only as directed on the bottle. Sadly, I don't know what he did to get rid of it.

I had the furry tongue too and it was horrors for a few days but it is beginning to pass now thank god!

I think it's just because a change in diet and all those fluids!

Don't worry it soon goes.

How are you and your sister doing?

If it doesn't go away, it's a sign of thrush! Aka yeast infection but in your mouth. Just tell your doc... Sounds like it's normal post-surgery tho.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
