OK, so I started logging my food again because it has been a while. I was assuming I was still between 600-800 cals a day. Ha!! Not so much...

After 2 days of logging, it looks like I magically stop eating at 900 cals. I even ate completely different things on both days and still came up wthin12 cals of each other. Very interesting. I will admit my heart started to pound a little when I saw I was at 900. But, then I talked myself off the ledge because 900 is still very restrictive. I have to eat what I am eating to keep my energy up. I am feeling so much better now than I did when I was getting 600 cals a day, so I can't be concerned about it. I am still losing 1-2 pounds a week which is fantastic!

On a side note, I have 14 pounds to go to move from "overweight" to "normal weight" according to my BMI. Holy moly - wont' that be a great day!!

Keep on truckin', everybody!

I think 900 cals a day is spot on... with a little 'bounce' either side. If my intake goes below 700 - 750 I literally feel shaky and weak... we gotta do what is right for us... well done on the steady weight loss and keep up the good work!!

I have to tell you...I have been eating 900 to 1000 calories a day. I track but my doctor does not require it. I have had a couple stalls but overall I am happy with my weight loss. I do exercise. In 4 months, I am down 67 pound. Just my opinion but I think if it's too low, I won't lose weight.

You are doing fantastic! I am hovering at 800, but seem to want to move towards 900 the last week or so... I am losing a little faster eating a little bit more...

Some lose more with less and some lose less with more - and some lose more with more and some lose less with less. B)

Everyone just has to find what works for each of us... as we are individuals - just like everyone else.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
