One Year Bandiversary!

Recommended Posts

Wow, I can't believe a year has past and all that has came with it? To look back at how I felt and how I looked is amazing of the turn around I have accomplished. I am 50 pounds lighter and feel absolutely amazing, sexy, sure of myself and I know for a fact it is only going to get better from here!

I was able to put on a size 12, cross my legs, sit on the floor without dying with leg cramps, being able to run and play with my children and not feel like I am about to pass out after 2 minutes. I get compliments all the time and I am told I look like I am in my 20's.. <SHHH, I will be 35 in Aug!>

This lapband is my lifesaver! If I wouldnt have gotten it I am sure I would develop diabetes, and not have this happiness that I do for being lighter on my feet. Anyone looking at this and contemplating on getting it, dont hesitate. This was the best decision of my life. It is only going to go up from here. I have met some wonderful people on here also. I have to give a shout out to all my girls on the NC thread! You rock and you are the best support system I could ever ask for! I love you! And others that I have met on here from other states you are awesome as well. If I ever have a question, or I need someone to talk to you are here.

In this year I have lost my grandmother, my gallbladder, and my DH, thru seperation. It has been tough and I havent lost since December but I think I am starting to get some strength and I am wanting to continue this lapband journey I started a year ago. God bless you all! And HAPPY BanDiversaY TO ME!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
