Raine 170 Posted May 15, 2011 Ok, so as some of you know my main goal was to get rid of as many medications as possible. I have gone from 20 to 10 to 6 pills a day and I couldn't be happier about that. Well I thnk I have to call my doctor about my last diabetic pill, glipizide that I take once a day now, because seems my sugars keep going low. Today I woke and had a shake, then a 1/2 hour later had an oatmeal made with skim milk, a little later on I had a SF chocolate pudding with FF whipped cream. I was full and wanted to take a nap, so about 1:00 took a nap for a couple of hours and when I woke up I had a SF ice. MMmmm love those things. I felt a little jittery and took my sugar reading and it was 55! So I drank another shake and took another reading a little bit after that and it was 78. I am going to call my doc tomorrow about going off the last pill for diabeties and see what he says. 5 pills a day here we come!
klus263 9 Posted May 15, 2011 Congrats....I was able to stop my metformin during the pre-op diet. They did give me one shot of insulin while in the hospital. I just had my labs done prior to my 6 month appointment. I got the call on Friday that my A1c is 5.2.....that would be considered normal and I would no longer be considered diabetic. I am trying one month without the cholestral meds and will have labs drawn afte 30 days to see if I can stop that. If I can then I will only be on Vitamins and Calcium. Unfortatunately I am Vitamin A deficiant so I will be adding that as a separate supplement. But I am not eating enough vegatables so I have work on that. Good Luck!!! Raine 170 Posted May 15, 2011 That is where I want to be . I have hereditary high triglycerides so I will have to take meds for that for the rest of my life but I knew that going into it. I am having blood work done at the end of the month so we'll see what the numbers say.
