Thank you for posting that and the TMI stuff. I really like how you broke down what you experienced each day. I want to do something similar when I get there in October/November :)

Amazing post with great detail. This is very helpful for all of us new sleevers. Good to know what is to come and great to know someone else is experiencing the same things at the same times. Very neat, thank you

Lou I truly loved reading your post and I am impressed that you kept track of how you felt each day! I wish I had done that because I am already "fuzzy" about the details and you and I were sleeved within a few days of each other. Take care of your self and enjoy how you look in those skinny jeans!! :D

I so needed to read this post today!! I am two weeks post op and I had lost 10 pounds my first week after surgery and I got on the scale today and have only lost 2 pounds in my second week post op. I'm also so sick of drinking Protein Shakes that a few times this week I didn't eat my evening shake because I just didn't want to, I wasn't hungry and was just sick of it, not that I can't get it down because I can, just didn't want it and I think thats probably bad! So I was feeling alittle frustrated, but after reading this I'M NOT GONNA STRESS about it!! I go to the doctors on Thursday and can't wait to get on the messy diet. Thank you so much for posting this!!

I am really glad you broke it down into days and good/bad points. It makes it so much easier for us pre-Sleevers to understand the emotional and physical journey post op!

Congrats on your loss and keep up the good work!

:cheer2:

Enjoyed your post!

I am one week out tomorrow. I have been home since Friday and am feeling pretty good. I am excited to say that I just finished 1/2 an egg scrambled soft with a little cheddar and it went down really good. I am drinking my Protein shakes(maybe 3oz at a time) 4 or 5 times a day. I have also tried yogurt, applesauce, malt o meal, chicken broth with a few noodles and mashed potato with garlic salt. I am looking forward to being 30 days out like you.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
