Maybe that's what I should do!!! Get up early and exercise before the kids get up.....then maybe I could actually get thru my whole routine without them bothering me!

Your weight loss is awesome!!!

I like to take my 45 min morning walk before breakfast! I usually do that just because it is so darn hot here, but I have wondered if makes any difference on burning more fat calories.

I get light-headed if I don't get a little something in before my workout; so I drink a Protein Shake. I'm at the gym at 5 a.m. I have my solid breakfast around 7 a.m.

Sometimes I go for my run early in the morning, becuase I know I have things on later in the day that mean I wont get it in. But I dont like it. I just dont have the energy at that time of the day whereas when I run at 5ish, I feel good, I get right into it and I really appreciate the stress relief by then (its usually arsenic hour in this household).

But supposedly you burn more fat if you run on an empty stomach.

Jacqui~ The only reason that I have energy at 5AM is because I wake up at 3:30AM and have an hour's drive to work... There is NO way I could pop right up outta bed and start working out :)

I do my work out early in the morning too, it just seems easier for me to do it and get it out of the way. I also seem to have much more energy during the day when I do it first thing. I will be joining a gym shortly and will be there at 5 am so that just means 1/2 hr. less sleep for me, that is not too much to make it too difficult for me.

another question - I was told you should eat something before you work out (which I cant that early) so I just drink some yogurt.... any thoughts on that?

Just this week I switched from swimming in the afternoon to swimming first thing in the morning when I get up. It is much cooler and it wakes me up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
