Well today is THE DAY!!! I'm sitting in the middle of my bed freshly scrubbed, dressed and ready to go [i don't leave for another hour but so what!] I have packed and re-packed my bag so I hope I don't forget anything.

My sister and I are going in today for the VSG. She goes first, I go second. She's a few years older than me and deserves to go first, that is how we were raised. She is my older sister and we were taught to respect each other no matter what. Love that woman more than words could ever say!!

We went and picked up our Mom last night so that she could be with us. Our husbands and grown children will all be there. Yes we are a very close knit family. :)

We have researched and prayed over this procedure for months so we are more than ready. We will post an update tomorrow and let everyone on this fabulous board know how we are doing.

Peace & Blessings to everyone!

Hey ladies how are you doing???

I'm doing good! I am back at work today and feeling ok.

I too am sip sip walk walk sip sip! Lol

As each day passes I am finding it easier to get my targeted amount of fluids in.

My incisions are a little itchy today but they are healing nicely and even though I know I shouldn't have I did step on the scale yesterday and I have lost 8lb!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I know this is the best thing I have ever done and am so grateful to my beautiful amazing parents for giving me this opportunity!

I love being on the losers bench!

Sending you both love and blessings and hoping you are healing well!

Hi Fairyfaye!! Dang you are already back at work??? You are a real woman!!:) I'm not going back until the Tuesday after Memorial Day. We are doing great! I went for a walk outside yesterday to the end of my subdivision and then sat by the Water to watch the ducks for about 30 mins. Felt really good to have the sun on my skin!! I go for my 1 week pre op tomorrow so I'm excited about that. According to my scale I've lost 5 lbs since my surgery but I'll take whatever weight loss I can get!!

Honey my incisions are itching too!!! I just keep my stomach well oiled with grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil to make sure the skin doesn't get too dry. Congrats on the 8lbs!!!!

Today I mixed some chicken/rice/noodles Soup together in a blender with alot of chicken broth. It was really good and didn't hurt that much. I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well. Take care and keep in touch!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
