wendy1974 3 Posted May 12, 2011 Has anyone tried these before? Are they good? I have been trying different Protein Shakes, but of course not this one! And now I'll have to drink 6 scoops of it a day for 14 days.... It comes in five different flavors & I ordered a couple sample packs from MyBariatricPantery.com. I was just wondered what the general consensus was on the taste? Thanks. Wendy

I love to get the vanilla and mix the powder with yogurt or puddings. . and add extracts into it when i use it as a drink. . . the chocolate is great too with Peanut Butter mixed into it . . tastes like reeses peanutbutter cups. . . and if you mix cherry extract into it as a drink it taste like cherry covered chocolates. . . yummmmm. . . . It's not chalky and mixes really well. . . but that is just my opinion. . . others may absolutely hate it. . . . good luck! I'm almost 2 years out and still use them faithfully
****** 12 Posted May 12, 2011 Has anyone tried these before? Are they good? I have been trying different Protein shakes, but of course not this one! I was just wondered what the general consensus was on the taste? Thanks. Wendy Wendy: Bariatric Advantage was required by my surgeon for the pre-op liquid stage -- it was not negotiable. I got the vanilla and chocolate and they're both pretty good. I picked up some Torani sugar free syrups and Splenda which make the shakes scrumptious! My favorite is chocolate with the Torani Chocolate and Almond Roca syrups added. I also made vanilla shakes with Torani SF French Vanilla and added frozen cherries. That was yummy too! I bought a couple of shaker bottles from GNC and so the shakes mixed up really well (no clumps) and I took them to work with me. I bought small bottles of the syrups to keep in the office. In the morning I would just throw 2 scoops of powder in the mixer bottle along with a packet of Splenda. At lunch time I would buy a carton of skim milk and then mix the shake when I was ready to "eat". I'm 16 days post-op and I've been adding a scoop of the chocolate to my cream of wheat Cereal in the morning. Tastes like coco wheats (one of my favorite cereals growing up). Best of luck to you on your journey. Empress
wendy1974 3 Posted May 12, 2011 Okay, well this sounds promising! I have bought a bunch of SF pudding mixes but haven't actually tried them in anything yet... Thanks for all of the yummy sounding suggestions!! Wendy

****** 12 Posted May 12, 2011 where do you get these syrups? ? Some grocery stores carry them. I got mine at World Market. Check out their link: http://www.worldmarket.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=torani&origkw=torani&sr=1 You might also want to check out Torani's link: http://www.torani.com/home
Shanny 70 Posted May 12, 2011 I don't really like them. I made the mistake of adding milk to it - it was like trying to drink clay. Lord it was thick. I needed more calories so I thought I could get a few in by using milk instead of Water. Won't do that again. I find that they are a bit too sweet, too. Maybe I'm just used to Unjury at this point. Hope they work for you!
Eureka-C 20 Posted May 13, 2011 I didn't like them either. Before surgery was fine, but after, it took me so long to drink, and they just kept getting thicker, like glue the longer they sat. It got so the smell just gagged me.
ybnormal 21 Posted May 13, 2011 where do you get these syrups? ? Look at the grocery store, in mine they're by the coffee and Creamers, way up on the top shelf. Renee`
Chicadee 10 Posted May 14, 2011 I have not been drinking the Bariatric Advantage stuff since before surgery. It was way to thick all the time and there is no way I would get it all down now. I have been sticking with the Nectars and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Proteins. My doctors office was not opposed to me using other brands as long as it was reputable. Oh and I bought my SF Torani syrups from Amazon.< /p>
