Dr. Chae, Denver area

Recommended Posts

I posted this in the surgeons subforum but got no response so trying here. Has anyone had surgery or know anything about Dr. Chae at Sky Ridge Med Ctr in Denver area? My cousin is seriously considering him. His credentials on web look good. Just wondering of someone has more info. Thanks.

I just got sleeved by dr chae on 5/9 and it was excellent. He really knows what he's doing, and as a bonus, no 2 week pre-op diet. And sky ridge is a fantastic hospital to get sleeved in. Nice rooms, friendly, knowledgable nursing staff, it was like being in a hotel!

The one thing I will say about dr chae is that it can be difficult to get around his office staff. If your cousin is not self pay, make sure she snags christine's business card on her first a ppt because Christine is the insurance lady and about the only one with an email address on her card.

I don't know anything about Dr. Chae, but this clinic is a "Center Of Excellence" which means this place is top notch. If you don't know what COE means, google it. That's what I did when my family doctor told me to make sure I chose a 'Center of Excellence' surgeon. I hope this helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
