Bye 0 Posted July 28, 2006 It was a slow week for me as Wednesday passed and I remained the same 383 of the last Wednesday. BUT TODAY...the scale dropped. I lost two pounds. Seems the 100+ weather would cause me to sweat off more.
Telly 4 Posted July 28, 2006 You can eat all that in one sitting ? Do you need a fill? Yes I can eat all of that. I've never had a fill so I may need one someday. But the whole purpose is to watch food portions and I just went crazy. Maybe if I start talking about getting a fill I'll get some restriction again, like last time. I rarely eat that way but I did enjoy myself. Only indulge when I'm out at family bar-b-ques and never at home or in restaurants. There have been 3 family bar-b-ques in July and I only attended 2. Still 170 this morning. Today and all weekend I'll be busting my ass to get the weight down. That's what's cool about losing weight.. if you falter one day, you have the the next day to fix it. I plan on doing that the next day after the hiccup. What's bad is that if you hit goal weight, it isn't written in stone and our bodies won't go on autopilot to stay at that weight. It's a constant weigh in, work it off, eat right, drink right kinda life.
MoOrLess 0 Posted July 28, 2006 AMEN Telly - it is definitely a "for life" kind of commitment to lose weight and keep it off - I believe - with or without the band -- you've done so awesome so far - one day won't kill you or dramatically affect your weight for long! Telly 4 Posted July 28, 2006 Thanks Mo. I ain't worried. In fact, I'm not ashamed i ate that way. I felt famished and now replenished.
MoOrLess 0 Posted July 28, 2006 Yep - our bodies tend to tell us what they need - sometimes we listen....
Telly 4 Posted July 28, 2006 Haha, in which case mine said it needed a little bit of everything on the menu, with alot of bar-b-que ribs

"Just" Paul 1 Posted July 29, 2006 Yep - our bodies tend to tell us what they need - sometimes we listen.... That's a really good point. I can recall frequent times when I am just CRAVING a glass of cold skim milk. There's likely something in the milk (protein, Calcium, Vitamin D) that my body wants. I guess the trick is to listen properly... many of the above things would be in icecream too, but better to opt for the skim milk... right?
FunnyDuddies 6 Posted July 29, 2006 I know that when I was pregnant and I was craving something, the doctor said to give into it, as long as it was along healthy lines. I couldn't eat all the chocolate and potato ships I wanted. But he believed that cravings were a way of the body needing something. Women who crave Iron during their pregnancies though have been known to get such strong cravings they eat weird things, like raw liver, dirt, and laundry detergent. FunnyDuddies 6 Posted July 30, 2006 Quiet weekend around here. I hope that everyone is quiet because of some fun activities and lots of family time. I got on the scale today and I have been consistantly losing .5 a day it seems. So we will see what wednesday's weigh in brings. I am hoping for a really strong number. :Banane56: Hugs to all my GFG'ers. May all your scales read lower.
