Sorry that pitcher is so large I'don,t know how to make them smaller.

Ive been around LBT for 17 months now,and Im not banded! but many people have helped me with my weight loss journey to save my life. before I lost my weight my highest weight was 310 now 196.5.

I lost it all by Diet and over Exercising low calorie,s lots of Water and friends on this site.

I'tryed every crazy diet, there was nothing was working tell me Docter told me that I, could die because of weight and the problems that go along with obesty. And I, started to come down with PANCREATITIS

And TYPE 2 DIABETES.

So I made a life style change and it worked, also blood sweat & tear,s.

and hundreds of mile's of walking jogging biking and what ever else, before last june when I hurt my back and SI joint. now its walking in the pool small walks these days.Swimming

Just so y'all know. Funny is out of town for a few days so the Members and Honor's pages wont be updated until she returns.

A big hello to all the new folks joining! :welcome:

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Since there are so many of us in the club and each month's thread gets so long, it becomes difficult for some people to browse through because of all of the long signatures at the end of each post. So we ask that you un-check the "Show your signature box" before posting. You'll find this option at the bottom of the "Quick Reply" window and also in the Additional Options section of the Edit screen you go to when you click on Post Reply or on the Edit button. Thanks!!

IMPORTANT REQUEST: I've received a few PMs from some of our members who are beginning to feel a bit left out and uncomfortable about posting on the GFG threads. We need to remember that we have a very diverse group of members. Young, old(er), male, female, liberal, conservative. It's important that we all feel at home here, and I believe the best way to do this is to stay focused on what the club is for. Weight loss and lapband support. I do encourage everyone to feel free to have friendly chats, but please be considerate and focus these chats around topics that everyone will want to join in or at least glean motivation and information from. We need to be cautious about offending others so that all of our members feel part of the group. I hope everyone sees that this isn't a critism of anyone who has been posting, only a request to leave room for everyone to participate. Thanks a bunch. You losers are the GREATEST!!

Congrats to everyone for the big losses!! Love the tat JQ - now you've got me to thinking about getting one when I have lost a bunch!

I have got to get serious about exercise! It has NEVER been a part of my life so it really seems hard to get it started, especially with the 2 jobs! I KNOW that it has to become a part of my new lifestyle, I am just trying to figure out how best to do that. Riding a bike seems like a good thing to do (outside- not a spinning class), but I don't have one. Swimming or Water arobics seems like a good thing to do and I have a free membership (for 3 months) to a gym as part of my lap band surgery. I have full intentions to start the water arobics class on Monday. I'm going to do it...I'm going to do it...I'm going to do it.... That is my new mantra! Maybe it I say it enough it will actually happen. :cry :paranoid :) :) YES, I'M GOING TO DO IT!!!

Hope everyone will be praying for us and everyone else getting banded here shortly. I know I'm a nervous wreck and I thank everyone for they're support so far.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
