remi's grandma 0 Posted May 11, 2011 Hi Fellow Sleevers, This is my first post. I've been reading for a couple of weeks now but now it's here. My surgery date is tomorrow. I thought I would have more trouble going clear liquid today but it wasn't too bad. Even fixed the husband lasagne for dinner. I'm being sleeved at 12pm at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital. It all came together really quick. I started classes on January 13, 2010 with Kaiser. They require 12 weeks of classes and when I started they told us the wait would be 4-6 months after our classes finished but they have contracted with Fountain Valley now and I am one of their first Kaiser patients. I am pretty nervous but reading your posts have helped. Wish me luck and I will post again when I get home.

remi's grandma 0 Posted May 11, 2011 Thanks for the support! My Mom is crazy worried and my only child just had her first child. My first grandbaby. I really want to keep the weight off this time so I can play with him instead of being too tired all the time. My Mom doesn't understand why I have chosen now to have surgery but my daughter is trying to be supportive. I have a great husband and he does his best to support any decision I make but none of them really know where I'm coming from. My knees and my back hurt all the time. I want to be healthy! Good luck to you!!! Hope everything goes well and look forward to hearing from you post-surgery!!
lsereno 2,525 Posted May 11, 2011 I will be thinking about you tomorrow and sending healing thoughts your way. My surgery is next week. Unless a person has been limited by weight and had their health affected, I think it is very hard for the person to understand how surgery is an option. I'm with you! I want a healthy life enjoying my grandchildren now and great grandchildren one day. Lynda
