Haha you are a poster child for this Pas! My doc says that getting all the fluids and Protein in takes a couple of weeks and for me he was right.

On another note, Panera bread will also serve you just the broth from their chicken noodle Soup. Its pretty good lol.

Thx raine:

I am amazed at how well things are going. I had prepared myself for all the complications and slow loss, the pain and fatigue, so far I have just been great! And I have lost 35lbs as of this morning! I need to get a ticker.

Things that I think are helping

I am up moving all day everyday, I got home last Friday night the 13th of may, I have not laid around at all. Up out of the house all day everyday.

I am sipping liquid all day, I'm not getting a ton in, but constant small amounts. I bought some "emergenC" drink powder. It is tons of Vitamin C and B complex, I try to get one in at least every other day. Dont know if it is helping but don't think it is hurting.

And "attitude"'yes I think it matters. I have not once regretted this, not dwelled on what I can't have or such. I am staying positive and excited about this new adventure and life. But that is kinda me anyway. My cup is generally overflowing and stuff is rapidly condensing into it. :-).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
