As a newbie to this site, I do understand that your food must be chewed up quite thoroughly but will there come a time when you can chew your food slowly but a little bit more normal?

I'm only recently sleeved and still on liquid. But my peers in the support group tell me that once you get used to eating slowing, chewing thoroughly, you don't tend to want to go back to a faster style. It's one of the few universal things I've been told. I guess it just really helps to not have a pain in your chest or feel over stuffed. I'll be interested in knowing how it plays out for me too.

I started chewing too fast and too little about 3 months out, and a few times felt like something stuck with too much Gummy food, especially potatoes, tortillas, and bread. It was horrid. I try to remember to chew and swallow smaller bites even 51/2 months out. That being said, I think I eat normally.

Now that it's been over 2 years since I had my surgery, I don't have to chew nearly as much as I did when I did for most of the first year. I know which foods take extra chewing too.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
