Can anyone else eat a good amount of food at a month out??

FWIW, I have always felt I could eat more (and much more easily) than a lot of people on here as well. I've been on full solids since day four post-op, and though I took a fairly conservative approach at first, I could eat a whole egg straight away. I could probably eat an egg and a half at this point, likely not two. My plan calls for three meals and three Snacks per day, and I usually get in 800-1000 calories per day. I am fine with that, my past experience of doing 400-600 calories per day was absolute shit on my body. If I lose more slowly, that's okay.

The other day I was out shopping and walking around town all day and I realised I was starving, so ducked into a (new!) Burger King that has just come to town and had a cheesburger -- I took off the top bun, ate half the burger with bottom bun, then ate just the remaining meat without any bun. So about 1/3 of the total bun + the entire meat/cheese patty. And I was full after, but not overly so. It went down well and I felt awesome after. I can eat bread, Pasta no problem. I'm not a huge fan of rice, so I don't even bother. I eat 30g of bran flakes (about 1/2 cup) + about 2oz of milk over it and that makes a nice satisfying Breakfast.< /p>

There are not foods I can't tolerate, and I don't have to chew like a madwoman or eat sloooooowly. I was briefly inclined to become neurotic and anal about it, but then I figured, meh, feck it -- I am enjoying post-op life and getting in a lot of quality food. I feel like I'm doing very well.

I also drink coffee every day and have an occasional glass of wine. Very occasional. This is Europe, it's all allowed no problem. ;)

One thing we all need to keep in mind is that Hip is male so it is possible they gave him a bigger stomach because of that fact. It would be nice if more men had posted here for him to compare with.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
