first of all how many carbs are you consuming?? Second are you getting your Protein and Water intake in. if you are getting less than 25 carbs in per day then up your water intake. You have to totally change what you are doing. Kinda throwing your body for a loop. But it is extremely important to watch carb intake.

We have the same surgery date! I was going through a 2 week stall and it finally broke yesterday. I upped my Water, lowered my carbs and made sure I hit that 60 grams of Protein. I upped my water tremendously. I also went to the gym 3 times this week. I tried to burn at least 300 calories while I was in there. I woke up this morning and I had lost 3 lbs. I posted a story like yours and I got some advice from a fellow sleever and I'm glad I followed it cause the stall was driving me crazy. Don't get too discouraged, I hope that this info helps. Take care. Let us know when your stall breaks.

Unfortunately, stalls are part of the process. It is really hard to stay focused and not let them get you down. I don't think that there is anyone that hasn't had a stall or even a gain along the way. Keep your Protein up, try to stick to the diet plan as far enough total calories) even if it seems like you are eating too much and try to exercise at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. I found that if I deviated from any of those 3 things, I would stall and had even gained.

I'm working out 4 times per week for an hour, 80 grams of Protein per day, about 20 carbs per day and getting 64 to 80 oz's of Water. I did increase my calories 2 days last week to about 900 and my fat intake because I know from losing weight previously that if I don't get enough calories or fat that I stall. Once I did those things I lost one pound each day. I'm praying that this is the end of this stall. I will keep everyone posted and thank you all for your help!!! Smooches!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
