LR6909 10 Posted May 5, 2011 This may have already been asked and answered but I thought about it today, what are the best compression garments to get? The reason I ask is I had a myomectomy in 2003 and left the binder at the hospital--stupid me--I didn't think to wear it and or a girdle while I was at home healing so I would have this big flap at the bottom. I usually wear Spanx. Anyone have any suggestions, while I am waiting, I want to get whatever I may need now so I don't have to worry about extra expenses later. BlackBerryJuice 349 Posted May 5, 2011 I didn't need it, although I've heard if you have a very large stomach, some mild support is helpful to relieve the pressure on the wounds from gravity. But in that case I think pantyhose/Spanx or just yoga pants would be enough. I personally only had any sort of noticeable pain for the first 2-3 days, when you are lying in bed, anyway, so I don't think there's much use spending $ on a compression garment. MRSKOUBiK 27 Posted May 5, 2011 I had a binder when I woke up and I'm so thankful.
