NJChick 3 Posted June 29, 2006 I LOVE tuna steaks and tuna burgers. I also love Paula Dean. Trader Joes sells tuna steaks shapped like burgers and they are thinner... they are pretty tasty on the grill. Let me know how they turn out :grouphug: mmmmmm don't forget the tarter sauce. kim2bhealthy 3 Posted June 29, 2006 I love Paula as well. That is basically her recipe for Salmon Croquettes (Patties), just substitute the salmon for the tuna and pan fry them in a little canola oil! They are yummy, just made them for supper last night! I'll have to try the Tuna burgers.. Sounds goood! Below is the exact Recipe for the Salmon Croquettes: 2 fillets canned salmon, flaked 1 egg, beaten 2 tablespoons green onions, diced (I just dice up a 1/4 of a vidalia onion) 1/2 cup bread crumbs Vegetable oil, for frying Over medium heat, heat oil in a medium skillet. Combine canned salmon, beaten egg, green onions and 1/4 cup bread crumbs. Form into patties and dust with additional bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Teresita 0 Posted June 29, 2006 I call them tuna cakes, like salmon cakes. A girlfriend gave me receipe about 15 years ago. I put mine in a skillet because mine would fall apart a bit and I put ketchup on mine. NJChick, I love Trader Joes. I need to go get some 21 seasoning today or tomorrow. NJChick 3 Posted June 29, 2006 Oh that recipe looks wonderful too... now I gotta try them. Teresita, I love TJ's too. Thats where I get my Protein drinks from (cans), World Pure Protein or something like that, they are tasty, 100 calories but I only get the vanilla (chocolate is kinda icky). seppi 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Oh my gosh these sound so good. I don't eat beef and don't really like turkey, so I am a little sick of chicken. Thanks for the great ideas.
Teresita 0 Posted June 30, 2006 NJchick I sill have to try their pure Protein. While I was in line, across from the man had at 8 cans of pure Protein drinks. Do you buy their greeting cards? They are only 99 cents and they are so cute.
lisanjason 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Does anyone know where I can buy caramel or coffee flavored Protein Drinks? I bought alot of them right before I had my surgery 4 months ago and now I can't find them anywhere.I think they were by EAS (?) I've noticed Walmart carries this brand but they only have chocolate and vanilla flavor.
mcassoccpa 0 Posted June 30, 2006 Lisanjason-they are by EAS, they are the Advant Edge Low Carb, that I buy, my favorite protien drink at only 100 calories - they have alot of flavors but it's hard to find most of them! My Kroger store carries the coffee and carmel ones....myTom Thumb used to carry a Cookies and cream one that's very good. Ask your local grocer if they can order this flavor for you. Good luck!
