Coookies 13 Posted May 5, 2011 I don't know about others, but for me, I'm 3 weeks post-op and i try to stay under 20 grams per day... sometimes I go over, but my absolute maximum is 30... i lose better on days when I'm under 20 grams....
AutumnLily 77 Posted May 5, 2011 I am mostly under 30 grams but have gone up higher on rare occasions. Nothing that I would do on a permanent basis during the losing phase, but will need to master when I want to stop the loss.
iegal 460 Posted May 5, 2011 My surgeons diet did not have specific limits...in other words not a maximum number. Read a post from Tiffykins right after surgery (I think) where she outlined her plan of less than 30. So I tried to keep that during weight loss period. I am carb sensitive and love all kinds of carbs. At maintanance weight I eat carbs and enjoy them. No longer is my diet carb based as preop. No more full Pasta dishes, but protien first then carbs as a small side. Almost laughable because all of my portions are small...carbs are the smallest portion on my plate. Hope post helps you! juliarh 35 Posted May 5, 2011 I try to keep my carbs under 30 grams, but some days, like iegal, I do go over -- not frequently, but on occasion. I don't know if I could go lower than 30 because I think that getting in fruits and veggies is important (for example, a granny smith apple is 22 grams alone!) -- but that said, I've lost pretty consistently because I think I keep my carbs low. Like iegal, I am carb sensitive and I'm still in my losing phase, so if I were to increase my carbs, I don't think I'd lose as fast . . .
