Hello Sleevers:

I've not posted in a while now, as once the first couple of months pass, and normal life slowly starts to take over again, I got busy with my day-to-day... but I just want you new sleevers out there who are discouraged, worried and thinking that you made a mistake... THIS REALLY WORKS!!!

This week was my official six-month anniversary of being sleeved, and I have lost nearly 50 pounds, gone forever. My weight loss was very fast in the first two months, leveled off in months 3 and 4, and then once I got back to feeling normal, my diet stablized and I began to add exercise, it picked back up again.

With warm weather just creeping into the picture I put away my now baggy winter wool pants and dug out all my last year's summer cotton pants. Guess what... NOTHING fits. In fact, nothing is even remotely wearable. All of my pants fell off me without being unzipped and unbuttoned.... THANK YOU, GOD, this is a dream come true.

So don't give up, don't give in, and as soon as you can move around without pain, climb on the exercise bandwagon. I do NOT have the money to join a fancy gym, but what I am doing is: Yoga (at home with different CD classes), Bellydance (also with exercise CDs), brisk walking, intensive gardening, intensive house cleaning, and I put together a little 10-minute exercise routine that I cut out of a SELF magazine.

Yes, it IS all worth it... but it's not magic. You gotta move it!

Good luck everyone, hugs and kisses from CINDERELLA

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
