From my reply to Apple-saucy's post:

Breakfast: coffee & 4 oz scallops = 16 gm Protein, 2 carbs, 85 cal.

Lunch: 4 oz chicken salad with grapes = 12 gm Protein, 12 carbs, 170 cal.

Snack: 1 slice turkey breast = 9 gms protein, 60 cal.

Dinner: 4 oz chicken thigh = 31 gm protein, 232 calories

liquid Calcium citrate = 10 carbs, 35 cal.

H2O = 64 oz.

Total 68 gms protein, 24 gms carbs, 582 cal.

I am 16 weeks out on Thursday.

I'm still pre-op but here's mine for today:

B- 3 scrambled eggs, coffee with lf milk

L- 8 ounces of shrimp

s- 1/2 C. low fat cottage cheese

D- large salad with 3 ounces grilled chicken breast

This is about 893 calories, 22gm of carbs, 31gm fat, 125gm Protein, and I am stuffed. I almost couldn't eat all the salad at dinner, though I'd kill for a glass of wine.

Another day this week was:

B- coffee with lf milk

L- tuna salad with onions and light miracle whip

s1- beef Jerky

s2- lf string cheese

...missed dinner because we were busy and had to make poker night

Because i had so few carbs and calories for the day I got to have...

4- michelob light ultra beers

For the day= 763 calories, 11gm fat, 26gm carbs (even with drinking 4 beers) and 54gm Protein.

Typical menu for me:

B - 2 servings Egg Beaters (1/2 cup) with tablespoon of non-fat shredded cheddar cheese = 14.5 grams Protein / 3 grams carbs

S - 1 mini-babybel light cheese round = 6 grams Protein / 0 carbs

L - 3 oz. can albacore tuna with 1 tablespoon low fat mayo, 1 mini-babybel light cheese round cut up = 27 grams protein / 2 grams carbs

S - 1 mini-babybel light cheese round = 6 grams protein / 0 carbs

D - 1/2 cup shredded chicken breast, 1/8 cup shredded mozzarella, 1 tablespoon salsa, 1 tablespoon light sour cream = 28.5 grams protein / 2.5 carbs

Total = 82 grams protein / 7.5 grams carbs

Sometimes I won't eat the cheese with my lunch and if I don't, I will have a Protein shake in the afternoon. This adds another 30 grams protein and 5 more carbs but still keeps the carbs under 15 and the protein over 100.

I also drink 80-96 ounces of Water per day.

I think I've always stayed under 30g of carbs since surgery. Ironically, I don't even really count them all the time; just happens to be.

B: eggs/bacon or Protein shake

S: cheese, beef/turkey Jerky, yogurt or almonds

L: turkey/cheese, chicken tortilla Soup, chili, quiche or fish

D: Half of chicken taco, fish or chicken

S: frozen banana, vitamuffin, jerky, cheese or Protein Shake

It could be because I'm not really eating side dishes either. I just focus on Protein now that i'm 6 weeks out

everything i eat is under 700 calories or under 800 on work out days. but i do buy low carb foods (tortillas, crackers, yogurt, etc)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
