mrhyne 0 Posted May 4, 2011 At my heaviest I weighed 189. Now I am 6 weeks post op at 160. My only issue is the weakness and tired feeling I have around 6 pm at night. I try to mix chocolate whey Protein in low fat choc milk every morning to make sure I am getting enough protein. I usually get home from work around 5:15 and I am hungry however, when I try to eat I end up eating too fast and throwing part of it back up. I am trying to get all my liquids in but usually fall short with about 40 ounces in on a good day. My doctor says I am fine but, I feel like something is off. My doc has seen me twice since the surgery but no blood work or anything just checked my blood pressure and that was it. Should I be concerned?
Guitrman 11 Posted May 4, 2011 Are you taking your Vitamins? I can tell when I don't take my B-12 early enough I crash by 7pm! G
Rootman 1,101 Posted May 4, 2011 While some fatigue may result from the surgery and massive diet change at 6 weeks you should be perking up a little. I'd specifically ask the doc to run a full blood panel to make sure yo are not deficient in any Vitamins or minerals. Vitamins and supplements are cheap insurance against possible Vitamin related illnesses that can crop up because of our limited food intake. As Guitrman above suggests, I to recommend a Multivitamin, B12 sub lingual, Iron supplement and Calcium citrate supplement. Make sure and take the Iron and Calcium at least 2 hours apart as they interfere with each other.
