Hey guys! I'm back. 4 weeks post op, I'm currently in a stall, but overall I feel great. Today I tried on an XL swimming suit and it could fit (bottom fit great, but I'm very top heavy lol) - I am happy to say that being able to see an XL is great, I'm usually having to try on 2 or 3X. I have tried not weighing myself that much this week due to my stall cause it only makes me upset. I'm increasing my fluids and taking in more Protein Shakes and Water to see if that will help. It feels like it's been longer than a month, I'm 2 weeks away from being off the soft food diet. I do feel like I would be ok staying on the soft food diet due to my stomach being much smaller but I guess with more options of food I'm sorta looking forward to the 6 wk mark. Well, I hope all are well!

P.S. My new swimsuit is too cute.

Hi there! Sounds like you're doing really well. The stalls can be frustrating but if you're doing all the right things - the scale number will be lower. Wallow in the Non scale Victories!!! An XL instead of 2x or 3x? How great is that!!!

It's not a race - truly.. eat the right things, take your Vitamins, and do some physical activity. That's the way to go.

Keep up with the right stuff!

I know we'll hear wonderful things from you!

Congrats! you're doing great. Almost everyone stalls 3-4 weeks out as the Water you lost right after the surgery starts getting replenished (or so I've been told). It doesn't mean you're not losing fat.

I am determined not to even touch a scale (except at follow up appts) until at LEAST 2 months after surgery. Maybe even as long as 3 months, we'll see.

I'm going to spend that time healing and getting adapted to the new reality of the sleeve. I won't get serious about weight loss or exercise until I'm at least well into solid food.

Ignorance really can be bliss. :)

congrats!! dont be sad about your stall!! i had a 2 week stall my 3rd and 4th week after surgery but that doesnt mean your body isnt shrinking!! dont worry once the scale starts moving again it will rapidly go down biggrin.gif

Congratulations on your size change! Going to a XL is a major step. I can not wait! I have not been in an XL (truly without gutting myself) since....I can't remember  .... My surgery is May 13th. Keep going...a stall is just that "a stall" not a stop. Congrats to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
