rblessed 1 Posted May 2, 2011 I had no complications and I have never heard of such serious complication. How are you doing NOW??? Hope it all worked out for you. I am fine now. But, it has been a hard battle. I have been in and out of the hospital and unable to eat or drink anything since December 12, 2010. This last time I was in critical care for twenty-one days. Finally, they have closed the leak. I have lost a total of 105 pounds and my faith in God has grown. I give HIM all the glory because this last time the doctors had given me up. However, I know there is a reason for me having to endure the complications. I don't know the purpose for GOD sparing my life.
snowfie9 6 Posted May 2, 2011 Tiffykins had a lot of bad complications. She said she was on a resperator at one point. But she's gotten past them and is doing very well 2 years out. My surgeon said that complications with the sleeve (at least in his experience) are extremely rare. Out of the thousdands of surgeries he's done (VSL, lapband, bypass and other bariatric surgeries) only 2 of his patients has died and both were from heart attacks. But I think a lot of the odds of complications has to do with the surgeon and how much experience they've had with this surgery. it's a pretty specialized surgery and one can certainly do with a surgeon that specializes in bariatric.
