Finally made it out of the obese BMI.... first goal metbiggrin.gif

What i've learned....

1. You don't want to eat week one.

2. You will feel much better week two if you drink your Protein Shakes

3. You will stall after large amounts of fast weight loss (for me week 3)

4. you will loss again after your stall

5. you will have the munchies around week 3 & 4

6. the munchies will go away after you start eating real food again

7. I can swallow whole pills again. week one i was able to take my thyroid. Week 8 I was able to swallow TWO caps at the same time

8. I must drink plenty of Water to keep from gaining water weight

9. i must exercise

10. i can go out and lose... even mexican

11. i can have a small indulgence every now and then and still lose. (glass of wine at dinner)

12. weight loss will be no faster than before... avg. 2 - 3 lbs per week with very controlled calorie intake. No big numbers after week 3.

13. I sleep better, I feel better, I look better, I'm more fun!

14. it doesn't bother me to tell people about my surgery.

15. i like swimming suits, shorts, short sleeved shirts, strapless bras, sexy sandals with red polish pedicures, nighties (no MooMoo's).

My list will keep growing as I keep losing.

Next goal 150 (healthy weight)

final goal 120-125..... pre-age 35 weight

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.... or the two piece bikini tongue.gif (well maybe just for my back yard pool)

I love this list. It is like a sleeve list of commandments, and I love how positive it sounds. Keep up the awesome work! I definitely have to start setting finite goals for myself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
