A neighbor recently moved out and gave us a bunch of dishes (plus a lot of junk :/) that she didn't want anymore... I was over-the-moon because she brought a bunch of tiny bowls that will be perfect post-sleeve :) I have already started to look through our cabinet to see what we are going to need.. and I don't even have a date yet!

Sometimes I just like using a large size bowl or plate, but sometimes I just like that tiny little bowl of food. I have silver pickle forks and demitasse spoons I use sometimes as well.... I find the little baking dishes are useful... I steam or bake eggs and spinach or lasagnas, foil them and put in the refer for later in the week.

I collect Fiesta Ware, and I love their tiny dessert bowls. They are my new serving dish for most of my meals. I also use their salad plates as dinner plates. I love all the colors they come in and it's fun to find retired color pieces at antique shops.

I like the little spoons and forks ideas. I'll have to start looking for them next.

I love fiesta and Bauer wear! You probably know some of the colors are not that great to eat off of....The set a great table.

I love my collection of my flowery dessert size bowls and plates. They are the perfect size to eat from. Wish I had them with me in restaurants. :)

I love collecting vintage birdcages and tea cup sets. So pretty I use them all the time.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
