Bandme1 12 Posted April 28, 2011 I have heard so many mixed reviews about Isopure. I tasted the pre-made Isopure in the bottle. The Alpine Punch flavor.... rocks! It has a little bit of a dry aftertaste, but to me the aftertaste is similar to yogurt. You know how yogurt leaves a slight dry aftertaste? I don't know, but I had 2 of my co-workers try it and they both loved it too. I tried the Blue Raspberry flavor and Mango Peach and they aren't as good as the Alpine Punch. For zero carbs, 40g of Protein and 160 calories.... I'll take it! I think it will be my saving grace in the liquid phase. Watch, with my luck, my tastes will change and I won't like it post-op. lol. But for now, one a day and I am SO full. I drink it in the morning and don't feel hungry until around 3:00 or so. And I am post-op, I still have my big ol' belly to fill! lol. What are some other opinions on Isopure? My mom had gastric bypass and she tried Isopure and couldn't stand it. If I had tried Mango Peach first, I probably would have said I didn't like it either. The Alpine Punch is divine! lol. Any other Isopure fans out there? I did some research on the Isopure powder and have been told it is completely different than the ready-to-drink bottles. I think I'll stick with these for now.
Billy363627 15 Posted April 28, 2011 the only advice that I have for you is not to buy up a lot of it. After surgery your taste will change and if you buy up tons of it you will be stuck with it and cant drink it. I know my taste changed for milk yougurt and my Protein Powder. It was like I had to get used to it again after surgery. Now if you still thinks it rocks after surgery then buy it up.
prnps 0 Posted April 28, 2011 I liked the grape. But your taste buds do change after surgery. I just ordered different flavors at everymeal in the hospital and took home at least 4 because I could not finish it. That way you don't have to pay to try them. pat
ToDream 18 Posted April 29, 2011 I'm drinking a Grape Frost Isopure right now! It's ...ok... it has a weird aftertaste but its what I need right now post surgery so I'm trying to get it down.
kellyw74 258 Posted April 29, 2011 i am pre-op, but bought 2 of the apline punch and 2 of the orange something. i haven't tried them yet, but am hoping i can drink them because they will really help with the Protein while on liquids. i only have to do the liquid stage for 3 days, so hopefully, i can drink them! kelly
****** 12 Posted April 30, 2011 I'm 3 days post op and I'm using the Mango Peach and Orange Frost. Didn't really like Alpine Punch too much before surgery but will be going to GNC in a couple of days and will try the Alpine Punch and Grape Frost again. Great way to get the Protein in, but I agree that it does have a dry aftertaste. On the bright side, though, I find it REALLY easy to sip Isopure slowly so it that a definite plus. JG407 4 Posted May 11, 2011 If you have a "Vitamin Shoppe" nearby, their store brand powder mix is pretty good..mixes really easy by just shaking it with Water, 24g of Protein and only 100 calories...I just started with the chocolate yesterday (prepping for liquid diet starting this friday for pre-op phase II) and went to buy the vanilla today so I can have some variation. I remember the Isopure back in the day and that aftertaste was just too much for me! I appreciate the convenience but can't bear the thought of drinking something that makes my mouth dry! Good luck everyone!

kellyw74 258 Posted May 16, 2011 I am a week post-op today and have had the Orange pineapple banana and Alpine Punch. I agree that they are dry and not that good, but are much better if really cold. I like to put in a lot of ice and sip. That seems to make it taste a little better! I am going to go and try a few other flavors, but not sure which ones to get. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kelly
ToDream 18 Posted May 16, 2011 I had the grape frost. Not excellent but I could stomach it post op.
So Cal Kurt 32 Posted May 16, 2011 To add what JG said, the zero carb is 50g per serving and a serving is 2 scoops. when you look at the number of servings in the jar, double it.(50 g of Protein is a bit much at one time) I am really fond of the strawberry. I almost always blend it with LF milk and ice. great tasting.I also have the chocolate and vanilla. I am not really a vanilla fan but it is a great base to mix with fruit and stuff. Bandme1 12 Posted May 17, 2011 Where do you get the Isopure alpine punch? I'm having trouble finding it. We have some local vitamin/supplement stores that have them there. They also sell them on Amazon and GNC.com. In fact, the GNC website has a multi-pack with several different flavors. http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2612796

Thanks, Kelly Orange pineapple Banana and Alpine Punch are my favorites. Blue Raspberry is pretty good. Mango Peach was just awful, which made me really sad because I normally love anything peach. Apple Melon is decent tasting, too. There is a passion fruit one that I want to try but can't find anywhere that sells the individual bottles. I have only seen the 12-pack on Amazon. I don't want 12, I just want 1! lol. I ordered the variety pack from GNC.com and tried all those flavors.
