Dixies Mom 0 Posted April 28, 2011 Hello all! I was just sleeved on Monday, April 25th at Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. I didn't really have time to freak out about everything because I went from approved by my insurance to scheduled in less than 10 days. I don't have any buyer's remorse at this point. Yesterday when I had the dry leaves and nausea beyond belief, I was scared. But the fantastic nursing staff kept me sane by telling me that nausea is actually worse in sleeve patients than other bariatric surgeries. I was 291 at my pre-op last week and, if the scale was right, 278 on the day of surgery. I've been walking, sipping lots of fluids, and burping beyond belief! I want to thank those of you on this board. It made me realize that I'm really not alone in this and reassured me when I was scared. I'm looking forward to my visit next week with my surgeon and seeing what, if any, weight I will have lost by then!

Dixies Mom 0 Posted April 28, 2011 I'm only 5'2". Slept better last night at home than at the hospital because I didn't have anybody waking me up to take vital signs, draw blood, walk, or use the bathroom. I'm tolerating liquids well and have been up walking around the neighborhood. Looking forward to sharing my success with this fabulous group of losers! Dixies Mom 0 Posted April 29, 2011 LissaD--Dr. Todd Wilson did my surgery on Monday. I'll be honest...I'm an FP---and he needs some help with his bedside manner. However, I heard all the nurses there say he is an excellent surgeon! He had fellows and residents rounding with him and one of his fellows assisted in my surgery. I LOVED the nurses on 9 Jones bariatric floor! They were so kind and supportive throughout my entire stay! My husband loved all of the care I received. I would recommend Memorial Hermann to anybody who will listen!
LissaD 1 Posted April 29, 2011 Well I say thank you for them. I am always glad when I hear someone say positive things about the place where I work! I have not heard of him, but I have only been researching for 2 months. I know of an Eric Wilson that works there. I hope you are feeling better and keep us posted on your progress. I am scheduled to be sleeved on June 13th with Dr's Yu and Scarborough with TLC surgery. LissaD--Dr. Todd Wilson did my surgery on Monday.
