Hi Everyone,

Listed below is the meaning of Attitude.

Attitude: A position of the body or manner of carrying oneself. A state of mind or feeling with regard to some matters.

I realized that during my weight loss my entire ATTITUDE changed about how I thought and what I was feeling. I always had confidence in myself, but my confidence really started to increase as I lost weight. My new ATTITUDE was that I could for the first time in a long time start to believe that I was going to achieve my weight loss goal. The closer I got to my goal my weight loss seemed to slow down—now what. But, with my new and improved ATTITUDE I knew what I needed to do to make it happen. I had to step up the exercise more. I did this and my ATTITUDE just kept getting better. Now once I got to my goal, I had the skills to maintain this weight loss.

So everyone, I want you to get in touch with your ATTITUDE. We are here to help you with your confidence, be your new friends, and support you from this site. I want you to have the ATTITUDE that you can do anything you want in life including this journey you are on to lose weight. I was 63 when I started this and by 64 I was well on my way. Why did it take me so long to develop this ATTITUDE? I am positive that I would have never done this if I wouldn’t have gone to Dr. Aceves and his staff and had “Sleeve” WLS, I would have struggled like I had been doing for 30 some years. He gave me the tool to do this, I did the work, I developed by ATTITUDE and I became successful.

Now it is your turn to follow so many of us who have done this. We are there for you every step of the way. NEVER give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true, I am living proof of it. Is it easy—No way is it easy—it doesn’t just melt off of you. It requires work and commitment on your part. Making lifestyle changes to eat healthy, and incorporate some exercise with it. I know a few who have not done any exercise and that is OK, they said they just lost a little slower. For me I actually started to like how I felt when I would exercise. So make your plan, ask for help if you need it, and ask us any questions that you might have. I can only speak about my experience that I had with Dr. Aceves, because I knew he was the best before I went to him after all my research.

It is all about ATTITUDE so work on your ATTITUDE. This is ALL about YOU and NO one else.

Hugs to you,

Hi,

Thanks for reading it. You are sooooooooooooooo right when you say a positive attitude really does make a world of difference in our weight loss journey. Our life as we knew it is changing daily. We have those moments when we stumble and take a step back wards, but we know that we will be successful--nothing can stop us. You are doing an excellent job. If you have any questions or just want to talk send me a note OK. I have gone down this road ahead of you, so I have some experience at this.:P

Hugs.

Great post!

And so true. A positive mental attitude will help you no matter what challenges you will face in life.

You are also right that this isn't easy, and you hit the nail on the head with "the pounds don't just melt away" without our committment to watching what we eat and moving our bodies.

As for life after the sleeve, I agree with Myori, I love eating small portions. It is so freeing. It's amazing to look around and see what portion sizes are considered "normal" and how people who haven't been surgically altered eat SO much food. I love being satisfied with less. LOVE IT!

Hi,

Thanks for you kind words. Our brain (master control center) is always making us work and thing. Sometimes we go down the wrong path, but we turn things around and get back on track. That makes us human and pretty normal. It is amazing what weight loss does for us. It sure has changed my entire life and all for the better.

Enjoy your day, we are having sun here in Oregon and I am going out to work in the yard today.:D

Hugs,

Suzanne

Hi,

I see you have your head in the right place and that is 75% of the battle to lose the weight. You are doing fantastic. Congratulations to you.

Wow, I hear what you are saying when you say people eat way too much for one serving of something. I am amazed when I watch someone eat and we are out for dinner.

I think to myself, I used to inhale all that food too and for what reason? Now we share a meal and I can never eat all of it. :o

Too bad me couldn't have figured this out a long time ago.;) But we have now and we are going to be able to live like this for the rest of our lives. The very best part is that you will always be able to maintain your weight loss becasue you have made a lifestyle change.

Stay in touch and enjoy your day.

Hugs, Suzanne

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
