MaeConnie68 1 Posted April 27, 2011 Good Evening All, Well it is 7 days to I get sleeved. I had my Pre-Op class yesterday. I have some concerns but I am not overly worried about. Here are some key points I am not actually sure about. The first is the catheter, I hate hate and hate them. I understand why I need it but how do you get up and walk with them never done that before. The next thing is the nasograstric tube I have never had one before and I am totally worried about it. Here is the last thing the x-ray the next morning they give this barium and you have to drink 2 cups, how in the world do you do that when your stomach can only hold so much. So there you have my concerns; but other than that I am okay with everything. As long as I do not have any pain, I am good. I am going to get my bedroom but together and just try to relax. I have lost 20 pounds on the liquid diet. But today I just do not feel like anything and I am not hungry, I wonder if that is just the nerves kicking in. I am not sure. Any advice would be great on my concerns would be great. I love this forum I read it everyday. Well thats all for now. Everyone have a nice evening. meggiep 57 Posted April 28, 2011 Do you have to have a catheter? My doctor does not use one. The nasogastric tube is done while you are asleep, isn't it? When I think about everything that goes down your throat it is not my favorite thought either! I just remind myself I will be out for that. I am a few days behind you- this is my third day of liquids. I don't have much appetite either, I am drinking a lot less of everything than I thought I would be. It is normal to have some fears- just think about your goal in all this and how soon you will be on the losers bench!
