OFFICIAL TWO WEEKS STALL!!!!!!! WTH!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Been eating protien out the wazoo. Under or around 1000 calories a day (mostly protien). A bit of exercise but not much. STUCK FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just worries me because Im a revision from a band and am already down over 100. Been in the 250 range for almost 2 years. I really hope its just a stall and my body didnt just find its happy weight. Im getting so frustrated with not being able to do yard work and other stuff I need to do and when I wake up the same freaking weight everyday I am ready to lose my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Hip,

How much Water are you drinking? What kind of supplements are you taking and how much? I might suggest looking into taking some type of Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D supplement, or at least see your Dr. for a full blood panel. If I'm not taking my supplements and drinking all of my Water I'm always feeling sluggish/tired and my weight loss will stall.

Sometimes we just go through stalls too. I really don't think you've hit your wall yet at all. When was your surgery? Usually sleevers will hit a stall at around 3-4 weeks out and can last a few weeks too. I know one thing too, any type of white carbs and I'm stalling as well.

Good luck!!

I suspect a big part of the issue is what you yourself point out: "A bit of exercise but not much."

We have to aerobic exercise to keep the metabolism up, otherwise the body is all too likely to go into a starvation-mode and hang onto every calorie and pound with a vengeance.

Well , well well . I have been @ a stall for 6 months and its frustrating  .... I have naoy gained any weight but i have not lost any either. I exercise atleast 4-5 times per week . i mix it up by doing a variety of exercises. ie; swimming , yoga, spinning ,weight lifting , Zumba .. I do it all . I have a memebership @ YMCA and I use it faithfully. I know its my meal plan b/c I still want that junk food .. I take Vitamins (multi, vit d and b-12) I need help with my meal plan..

I am in the same boat lost weight the first week then bammm stall stall:)) still in my second week though but I know the feeling coming from a band !! it feels like we did it for 10 pounds and we are back to our band routine of not losing no matter what we do.

I think we should hang in there!! and the weight will come off as everyone says on here:)

Hang in there! If you look through the other messages on here you will see most people stall out in weeks 2 and 3. Your body still needs time to adjust and look at what you lost in the first week! That is a great loss for one week, your body is just in shock from another surgery and as long as you keep eating the way you are supposed to your body will kick into gear again within the next few weeks.

It will... IT WILL!!! Promise :) I'm a revision from lap band to sleeve and I'm here to say... it absolutely will!! The sleeve is far better than the band, just keep following all the sleever rules and it will work for you.

You are going to endure stalls just like the band, but unlike the band the weight comes off really fast when it does start dropping. You will always be ahead of the game. With my band I'd go up so much I'd feel defeated... it's just a lot different.

Hey, you are not alone! I am 3 and a half weeks out and have been stalling since week 2. Im on roughly 500 cals a day, taking my vits but i suspect not enough Water. From reading everything on here, i know it will pass. Its hard to shake those old feelings. It keeps crawling up on me "youre a failure, you will always be fat." All we can do is keep doing the good things and sit it out!

Hi-

I am also a revision and I got my sleeve at a low BMI. I lost a lot in the first week or so and I have averaged a pound or two a week since then. It's perfectly normal. Be excited about the first 10 pounds!!! My strategy: I try to weigh only once every 2 weeks - that way I am guaranteed to have some weight losss - even if it is only one pound.

I have what most people consider very slow weight loss, but I am ecstatic about it! I breezed past my lowest lap-band weight and I am consistently losing a little bit every couple of weeks. Try not to get hung up on the scale - it will drive you crazy...

Hang in there---

Lara

True Rev... I am getting really close to my goal I can tell. My body is making me really fight for everything where in the beginning it would just come off effortless. I'm starting to consider maybe only weighing weekly now. My weigh day used to be Wednesdays until I started weighing every day. I do like keeping an eye though - but I'm also starting to feel more comfortable with the program knowing it's working.

We'll see...

Hey Hip-

I also stalled hard in weeks 2-3, but I maintained the Protein focus and Water push and the weight starting falling off shortly thereafter. I would also like to note that I didn't start exercising until week 5 so that had nothing to do with it for me. I can't say that your body will react the same, but I thought a positive experience in a similar situation might be helpful. :)

Stay strong. Those stalls play some seriously evil mind games!

Amanda

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
