No weight loss in 4 days

Recommended Posts

I'm 15 days post-op and the scale seems to be stuck. Right after surgery I was losing 1-2 pounds a day and now nothing for the last 4 days. I've struggled a bit to get the full 60g of Protein in and I'm wondering if this could be what is holding me up from currently losing?

Doubtful it's anything more than the normal 2-3 week stall that most every weight loss patient experiences. Your body can't continue to lose 1-2 pounds a day, and stalls will happen. Just keep getting in your fluids and Protein as best you can.

Stalls are common, try mixing things up a bit, eat more or less then usual, exercise differently

Yep, what the others have said. I just broke a 10 day stall and I had my surgery done on March 24th. Even though I understood what was happening and why, when the scale finally went down 1 1/2 pounds today I felt like doing a happy dance! laugh.gif

Thank you so much for all of the responses. I lost 25 lbs, and I haven't lost a thing since Saturday! I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. I did lose like a pound, and then that came back. I just figured I've been at a stall also. I'm 3 weeks out, so it sounds like I'm right on track as far as the stalls go. So I'm just gonna try not to stress about it.

So thanks to all of you for your responses. You all have no idea how these posts really, really help.

Annette

Same here unsure.gif I found out today I'm running low on Iron and Vitamin D even though I take a multi everyday as well as a fruit and a vegetable supplement. So it looks like I will have to drink a glass of 2% milk everyday sad.gif and I'm not a milk drinker. Today I mixed in a Unjury chocolate Protein mix then added a couple of ice cubes and crushed it all together and it wasn't that bad, not gritty at all, it tasted like a instant Breakfast or slim fast, just a little thicker. If it comes down to me not being able to stomach another thought of drinking one, I'll add just a touch of chocolate Syrup for better flavor. So I'll be buy some more of the unjury. My cholesterol dropped 10 points since my liquids/softees, started them 10 days prior to being sleeved on April 4th in Tijuana. Everything came back good.

Add me to the stall list :( but as the other vets said, it is normal hopefully. I even gained a pound before stalling out  going on 4 days now. We just need to try to be patient and get used to our new sleeves. I still get on the scale every nite but do not stress over something that I have no control over. It will be okay and we will soon be losers again. Just keep pushing Protein and fluids ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
