Bemabound 11 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi again, I'm hoping to get my surgery in June and my hubby in July. How has it worked out for other husband/wife teams? Thinking I will go first so I don't see something that would make me change my mind! Also we have been losing together on Weight Watchers for our 6 month dr supervised stuff and that has gone well, especially because he is the cook in my house and our kids have just adapted to our eating habits. Any advice or words of wisdom for us? What about the mood swings...how does that work with two of you maybe being grumpy at the same time? Thanks so much Tracy W. klus263 9 Posted April 26, 2011 I had my surgery Dec 1st and my husband had his March 29. Now that we both had the surgery done, it is wonderful. We share a lot of the same foods together and I was able to guide him through his food stages and what worked well for me. It was hard at first as I am the cook and cooking while I was on the liquid stage was just not fair at times. We have decided when we go out we will take turns in ordering and split meals---now we are both considered cheap dates. Good Luck.
MegInNOLA 531 Posted May 7, 2011 My DH had his sleeve done about a year ago; it took me a lot longer to make the decision to have the surgery--long story, but here we both are now, sleeved. And I have to say it's GREAT having a spouse who's been through it and understands. It is NOT cool that his recovery and weight loss and "dealing with the changes" was so much easier than mine is being! LOL It's hard for me not to compare my meager weight loss with his melting--I'm evidently one of those who is going to have to look really long-term, because the short-term view is sort of depressing. At any rate, I would say the positives definitely "outweigh" the negatives, and I'm glad to have someone here who is excited for me when I'm not excited, if that makes sense. And he's an excellent sounding board for all the emotional stuff, too, which is really nice. Meg
