Having Sleeve surgery May 2nd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I think I have heard that some have and some havn't but from what I read- I think the ones that say they didnt have one- actually did they just took it out before they came to- my last surgery they waited till I was fully awake when they took it out- it is a little uncomfy- but no worse than the other pain you will experience- lol-they pull it out rather quickly so - it could kind of sting the first time you go pee- but Ive had them take it out and I was just fine-

I am crossing my fingers so that I will have your same experience with the catheter.

Is anyone else feeling tension as we near our date?

I will be fine until I go to the holding room. With all the other surgeries I've had, that's when I start to lose it. I hope they will give me something to relax me--especially if I have to wait in there very long. I think I can have two family members in there with me, so that will help.

I'm planning on staying very busy this weekend so it doesn't just drag by.

I thought my oldest daughter wasn't going to be able to be in town for the surgery; her car got trashed (windshield included) during a hailstorm in Knoxville Wednesday night. But fortunately she has found a ride home. YAY!!! Between classes and her job up there, I don't get to see her a whole lot so it was very important for her to be there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
