lkcraig316 4 Posted April 26, 2011 Six days before sleeving and I'm thinking of a million questions . . . After surgery, how long until your stomach feels healed enough to wear "regular" (non-elasticized) pants? I only have a couple pair of sweatpants with elastic and one pair of shorts with elastic. Should I buy a few more pairs or are you comfortable enough in regular pants pretty quickly. Did you put on pajamas in the hospital, or just go with the hospital gown and a robe? Makeup? Foxbins 625 Posted April 26, 2011 I wore elastic-waist pants for the few days after surgery when I was still swollen from CO2 gas and IV fluids--maybe 5 days total? But if you have a non-elastic pair that are big in the waist you'd be fine. And after the swelling goes away, you will have lost some weight. I brought a nightgown to the hospital but I wore their gown but my robe. I didn't feel like putting on any makeup; mostly I slept and walked. I don't think I even brushed my hair until the 3rd day when I took a shower.
fatBgone 6 Posted April 26, 2011 I wore jeans home from the hospital and I was only in 1 night. They were loose fitting and I was confortable. I took pjs w me but I didn't use them I just stayed in the hospital gown. The morning after I did get up brush my teeth and put some powder on my face. Infernored 5 Posted April 26, 2011 I wore yoga pants for week afterwards. I have a couple pairs of stretchy jeans that I wore to the store and then changed back to yoga pants at home. your stomach will feel bloated for at least a week from all the gas they pump in your belly. I brought pjs to the hospital and never wore them. The gowns are huge and I was wearing the air compression stockings on my legs. Too much hassle and when I was in the hospital, I just did not give a crap about what I looked like. I only stayed over 1 night instead of 2 because my pain wasn't too bad. I was out of bed and walking a couple hours afterwards too.
